On behalf of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf), I would like to invite you attend the event titled The Shale Gas Industry in South Africa: Toward a Science Action Plan to be held from 31 August to 1 September 2017 at the Boardwalk Conference Centre in Port Elizabeth. The event is an initiative following the publication of the ASSAf report on “South Africa’s Technical Readiness to support the Shale Gas Industry”. In addition to the ASSAf report, the report on “Shale Gas Development in the Central Karoo: A Scientific Assessment of the Opportunities and Risks” is to be highlighted.
